Four uncommon , 86+ year old propaganda postcards that show historic events of the Imperial Japanese Navy: 1 - upper left : Suzhou Air Battle, 'Shanghai Events' in China - 2nd Sino-Japan War - artist is Tomoharu Mikami 2 - upper right : Weihaiwei Night Attack , China - 2nd Sino-Japan War..artist is Sho Hasegawa 3 - lower left : ' Tempozan Offshore Warships' , '1st year of Meiji era ...artist is Hiromitsu Nakazawa ...( possibly when the new Meiji Emperor enlarged the naval forces and ships ) 4 - lower right : ' Miyako Sea Battle, Meiji 2 ' (1869)..artist is ' Nakou's Brushes' ...." Battle of Mitako Bay ..was a naval action on 6 May 1869... in which samurai loyalists of the former Tokugawa shogunate under the flag of the newly formed Republic of Ezo failed to take over the Kotetsu, the flagship of the Imperial forces of the new Meiji government .
