Description
Osaka, Japan 1938 issued commemorative postcard for the historic 'Exhibition on Holy War and the China Incident'... Following the Japan-German-Italy Anti Comintern pact of 1937 ...an uncommon postcard from Osaka, Japan. *This uncommon photo image was taken during exhibition in 1938 to commemorate the Anti-Comintern Pact , a historic agreement concluded first between Germany and Japan in November of 1936 and then included Italy in November of 1937 ..... the alliance was directed against the Communist International " Comintern " and by implication, specifically against the Soviet Union....* The photo image is of children seen riding in small tank-like cars and in a tiny warplane, while above others are seen 'flying' in other war planes at the exhibition. References to the event: *" In the spring of 1938 a mission of the Italian Fascist Party journeyed to the Japanese empire, visiting China, Korea, Manchukuo, and Japan itself. Those were happy days for the Axis and, as such, characterized by a flood of shuttle visits and requests for cooperation between Italy, Japan, and Germany." *Another historical reference to the exhibition is: ".. .. On a sunny day in the spring of 1938, a unit of Italian marines marched through Zhengyangmen, the famous gate of Beijing's historic city wall . However, the march did not take place in China, but on Japanese soil, in the vicinity of Osaka, and the gate the Italians passed through was a mere replica."
